Create Your Own Eyeshadow Palette Tag

It would certainly save me a lot of money from buying a bajillion palettes, at least!

From someone who uses multiple palettes just to get my everyday eye makeup look, there have definitely been times when I've wished I could've just had all my shades in one place.

So when Katina from Katinalindaa tagged me in the Create Your Own Eyeshadow Palette Tag, I was pretty excited to let my imagination run wild to put together my dream palette. Makeup companies, can you now make this palette a reality please?!

Read on to see the twelve colours I chose!

The tag originated from Kat at Kitsch Snitch, and you can read all the rules over on her blog. Go send her some love!

So first up I rounded up all of my favourite palettes - when I put them all together, I realised this tag was going to be harder than I thought. How was I meant to pick a dozen shades from all of these?!

To choose my twelve shades, I began jotting down and swatching my favourite colours on a piece of paper, and eventually I narrowed it down to the below. It was pretty difficult choosing - not only were these shades that I use a lot and really love, but I also had to group them to make sure they all worked together! #thataesthetictho

So here they are! I kept it pretty warm-toned and neutral, and I think it's pretty obvious how much I love a good shimmer shade! #girlgetthatglow

You'll also notice that I've grouped my colours together in three sets of four shades that work especially nicely together. Of course you can mix and match, but I figured three quads would make my sleepy mornings a bit easier!

From left to right:

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Stark - Starting off my palette is Stark, a creamy matte beige that's great for creating a smooth and even base for any eye makeup look.

Stila Kitten - Because I'm basic as heck, of course Stila Kitten gets a feature! This champagne gold colour is the most beautiful inner corner highlight - there's no wonder it's a beauty blogger favourite.

Urban Decay Naked 1 Naked - I wear this shade everyday in the crease of my eyelids to create some definition, as well as my transition colour to help blend everything out. This matte, medium-toned brown is also a fantastic contour shade (it's great for slimming down your nose! Curious? There's a blog post on that coming soon!).

Urban Decay Naked 1 Sidecar - Cue music from the heavens; if I could only wear one eyeshadow for the rest of my life, it would be this. It is the perfect everyday colour that can be worn as a soft wash over the eyelids, or as a high impact metallic shade. And you barely need to blend it in. A+++++++

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes #5 - This colour recently entered my makeup arsenal, but this rich, rosy matte pink is so gorgeous worn in the crease or along the lower lash line.

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes #7 - I love a good hit of rose gold, so I couldn't resist adding one into my custom palette. This subtle shimmer is perfect for the inner corners of your eyes, or lightly patted on top of a finished eyeshadow look in the centre of your eyelids for a little bit of glow.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Trick - Stepping it up a notch from the previous shade, Trick is a super pigmented copper colour that is a real hero colour. Best worn alone in my opinion - let that shimmer shine!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Liar -  One of the only cool-toned shades in this palette, Liar is a metallic, silvery brown. This shade is absolutely stunning and can be worn during the day as an all-over lid colour, or at night in a smoky eye look for some SeXiNesS.

NYX Beauty On The Go #36 - For something a bit different but still in the same colour family, I've gone with a shimmery maroon, which is great for darkening up a smoky eye in the outer third of your eyelids, or blended into the lower lash line.

NYX Beauty On The Go #29 - For when I'm feeling more daring (yes, my definition of daring in terms of makeup is wearing a slightly darker eyeshadow haha - such revolution, much experimental), this orange-toned bronze is lovely worn all over the eyelids and smoked out.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Busted - This shade is kind of showing up black in this photo, but it's a really deep cool-toned brown that's perfect for adding extra oomph to a smoky eye.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Blackheart - Finally we have Blackheart, which is a dark, almost-black purple with pink glitter. I normally use this on top of pencil liner and the end result is AMAZE. All I do is line my top lash line with a kohl pencil (either black or violet), then with an angled eyeshadow brush, press Blackheart on top of the liner. It makes your liner all shimmery and pretty.

With my favourite eyeshadows coming out of SEVEN different palettes, you can imagine the nightmare of trying to pack my makeup bag when I go travelling!

I'm jet setting off to Japan very soon, so I may have to invest in a Z Palette or something to make my custom palette a reality. Any suggestions on what I could name it?
