SNEAK PEEK: Essence 'Winter? Wonderful!' Collection

Normally I wouldn't associate the word 'winter' with the word 'wonderful', but in the case of this adorable new collection from Essence Cosmetics, I have to give it an exception!

Available at Priceline from mid-May through to June, this limited edition collection features:
  • An eyeshadow palette
  • A lip balm
  • Two lip oil tints
  • A powder blush
  • Three nail polishes
  • A top coat
  • A hand balm
  • Two pompom hair ties

I received a few samples of the new range to trial and share with you guys, so if you'd like a sneak peek of a few of these new beauties, read on!

Eyeshadow Palette in 01 All Ice On Me!

RRP: $7.80

For an eyeshadow palette that is less than $10, you're certainly getting a lot of bang for your buck. Plus, it comes in the cutest little snowflake case! This palm-sized palette contains five shades - two shimmers and three mattes, and each shade is MASSIVE, so it's pretty good value.

All of the shades are very wearable and the last two - the shimmery bronze and the matte brown - are really pigmented and absolutely stunning. The other three shades are pretty, however are a little chalky unless you build them up in layers. They do make nice transition shades or under brow highlights though!

Tint & Oil in 01 If Kisses Were Snowflakes...

RRP $6.15

Absolute kudos to Essence with this product. Literally only last week I was reviewing the Lancome Juicy Shakers, one of the first tinted lip oils in the western market, then Essence comes along and releases their own take on the trend!

That's one of the things I love most about Essence - they make trying new trends very affordable, without losing quality. This lip oil is moisturising, not sticky at all, smells delicious and leaves a lovely pink stain to the lips. The packaging isn't much to look at, but sometimes it's what's inside that counts - and what's inside here is pretty darn awesome!

Long Lasting Eye Pencil in 25 Sat Hi Light

RRP $3.05

This one isn't technically part of the Winter? Wonderful! collection, but it's a new addition to the Essence family so I thought I'd include it anyway! The latest colour to be added to the Long Lasting Eye Pencil collection is a pale, creamy nude, perfect for applying to your waterline to make your eyes appear bigger and more awake.

I would make a safe bet that once this comes out, it's going to be one of those Essence products that are always sold out! Using a light eyeliner pencil in the waterline is such a popular and well-known technique, so a mechanical pencil that costs less than a takeaway coffee is definitely going to be snapped up quickly!

Here you can see me wearing the eyeshadows and the lip tint (I do have the eye pencil on too, but girl has her eyes shut!). It's a subtle look and I do love the cool tones of the eyeshadows and the soft wash of colour on the lips thanks to the tinted oil.
