OOTD: How to wear neutrals

I used to say to myself that when I started working full time, that I wouldn't let my wardrobe turn into 50 shades of grey toned clothing. Because boring, right?

Yet, here we are, and I've been converted! While I still love a splash of colour, when the majority of your work wardrobe automatically matches, getting dressed in the morning does become a lot easier! Read on for how I styled this outfit...

Wearing monochrome pieces definitely isn't dull - the key is to wear multiple 'colours' at once. I've been loving combining black, white and grey all at once for a polished, multi-dimensional look.

And be brave and play with texture! In this outfit I've put together a thick woollen cardigan, a sheer layered top and shiny faux leather boots. By breaking up an outfit that made up of similarly coloured pieces, combining different fabrics will help put the look together.

My cardigan is from Cotton On, the high-neck layered top is from Temt, the slim-cut pants are from Portmans and my boots are from Rubi Shoes. Surprised? It certainly shows that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg for a polished outfit!

What does your go-to neutral outfit look like? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I love any kind of monochrome outfit, honestly I never get sick of it. Those boots are killer by the way!

  2. Your boots look amazing! Whilst I'm a huge fan of colours, it's still nice to return to neutral monochrome outfits every now and then. They just look so sleek! :)
