SAY FUJI take one

For the last few years, I have been on a mission to find myself an instant camera. Dream 101. There's something nostalgic and just downright fun about having a plastic cam slung around your neck that shoots out your snaps as you take them. So you can imagine I was a bit miffed that I couldn't get my mitts on an original polaroid camera without forking out for the exorbitant prices that they seem to come hand-in-hand with.

Buuuuuuuuuuut I still wanted to experience the magic that only film popping straight out of a camera could provide. Hence my delight when I stumbled across the Fujifilm Instax 7S Mini a few months ago. However, this stumblage only came in the form of a magazine advertisement, and so cued my journey to find a cam to call my very own! I visited department stores and techstore staples, only to be told they'd sold out, or didn't exist... After weeks of no success, and a random visit to a store tucked away in Chinatown that sold it a tad too exxy, I finally found my new baby. Sitting on a virtual shelf on an online store, beckoning, crooning out to me, and the floor under my feet began to swoon. So, I promptly dipped into my hip pocket and made it mine, and that gorgeous lil cam arrived on my doorstep the very next day.

I'll be posting all the snaps from my instax (lovingly named "lil fuji" - the name "surprise" nearly made the cut, hence making my photos "taken by surprise"; ha ha, gosh the awful puns...) up on my blog, so check back to see more happy snaps! But for now, here's round one:
